SARA ROUGIER LAGANE

Educator and childcare worker

"As an educator and childcare worker, I first studied the Montessori method and then expanded my training to include other educational methods. I have supported children in academic tutoring and worked as an early childhood educator in an international school, as well as in a preschool and nursery. I later took over the direction of the preschool and nursery. At the beginning of my career, I was also an equestrian instructor at a riding center for two years.

During my many searches, I discovered alternative methods that allow therapies to be adapted to the needs of each individual. Being an animal lover, I was particularly drawn to animal-assisted therapy, and after several searches, I finally decided to enroll in an animal-mediated therapy program.

Animal-mediated therapy allows for physical and psychological healing without the constant intervention of the therapist. The animal takes over and allows for natural interactions that feel good. In my practice, I collaborate with family members, caregivers, medical and paramedical professionals, educators, as well as all the people who are closely involved with the beneficiary. This collaboration is essential in the therapeutic setting to optimize the benefits of the sessions.

Target audience: Young children, children, elderly and individuals with disabilities.
